On his left Peter, on riight John and behind a group of followers. Seated within a building to the left Bernard in tunic and scapular is seen writing Christ's teaching.In the background a town with numerous towers. The miniature introduces Bernard's Lamentations. Both Christ's and Bernard's halos are missing, a sign of the artist's defective knowledge as also seen on another miniature on folio 13r. See MA 201. |
