| Prayer book belonging to the Cistercian Abbey of Salem dated c 1520. Half figure of the Virgin in a red cloak on left and Bernard in black cowl on right with the naked Christ Child between them. All three figures are nimbed and Bernard's crozier lies on the ground. Border has a numbed of naked angels carrying th Arms of the Passion. |
