Description:
Fresco dated 1515 attributed to Bernardino Luini from the Cistercian church of Morimondo near Milan. In the centre the Virgin and naked Child are enthroned. The Child reaches out to touch the small figure of John the Baptist as a child. On the left is Benedict with a long beard and wearing a black cowl, on the right the younger figure of Bernard in a white cowl. They are both carrying open books and croziers.
