Description:
One of nine frescos depicting scenes from the life of Bernard from 1482 at the Chapel of St Bernard, Pamparato. Bernard is depicted with the kneeling prisoner who had been condemned to death and whom he now liberates. According to the Exordium Magnum, he changed 'the wolf into a lamb, and the thief into a lay brother'. The inscription reads: QUANDO SUO DEVOTO DE LA PERSONE CHI DEVIA ABERE TAGLIATA LA TESTA.Bernard has 'tuft'. See also WA12 & WA14-20.
