Description:
Fresco in Chapel of St Bernard, Pamparato, from 1482. In the centre of the apse, below the figure of Christ, the Virgin with Child enthroned is flanked by John the Baptist on the right and Bernard on the left. Bernard has long beard, carries a crozier and a red book, and has the devil at his feet on a chain. There are nine scenes from the life of Bernard around the walls (see WA12-20). Bernard has 'tuft'.
