Description:
One of two single silver plates by Urs Graf from 1519. It shows Bernard on his knees accompanied by two of his companions being welcomed by the abbot of Citeaux, Stephen Harding, with outstretched hands in one of which he holds a crozier. The inscription reads: COLLA DEO SVBDIT SANCTA SUB RELIGIONE ('He gave himself to God under the holy religion'). (See also VA04-VA10).
