Description:
Carved stone altarpiece from 1348 in the Church of St Mary in Montblanch. The alatrpiece is dedicated to St Barnabas and St Bernard with four scenes from the life of each saint and the carved standing figures of the two saints in the centre. On the left is Bernard, nimbed and bearded and with a crozier in his right hand and a book in his left. By the English sculptor who did the carvings in the Cistercian cloister at Santes Creus.
