---|
Stone carving from the second half of the fourteenth century of a bearded Bernard with a book in his left hand while the right hand, in which there almost certainly would have been a crozier, has been broken off. It is now in the lavatorium niche in the cloister, but was formerly in one of three niches on the west front of the Church, the others having carvings of St Mary Magdalene and St John Evangelist (?). Copies of the three figures are now in the original position. |
