Description:
Two separate figures attributed to Michel Erhart and carved in limewood and painted in c 1500/10, Christ with His arms detached from the Cross attached to the wall and below Bernard kneeling and with his hands outstretched to the slumping body of Christ. Below Christ's feet are the arms of Clairvaux. As is quite common in Amplexus scenes the figure of Bernard is larger than that of Chirst. Bernard has a 'tuft'. From the Cistercian nuns' abbey of Oberschoenenfeld.
