Description:
Small tabernacle intended for private devotion and painted by Jacopo di Casentino c 1340. The central panel has the Virgin and Child enthroned flanked by four angels, with Bernard, bearded and nimbed and carrying a crozier in his left hand and a red book in his right, on the left, and St John Baptist on the right, and with four angels above. The left wing has St Francis receiving the stigmata above, and St Margaret and St Lucy below. The right wing has a Crucifixion scene with Mary and St John Evangelist. Inscription: IACOBUS.DE.CASENTINO.ME.FECIT.
