Description:
Fragment of an altarpiece in Tarazona cathedral painted by Martin Bernat c 1493. A nimbed Bernard, wearing a richly-embroidered cope over an alb and a cap and with a crozier in his right hand and his left hand resting on an open book beside him on a table or an altar, looks up at the tiny figures of the Virgin and Child within a mandorla and standing on a cloud. The Virgin bares her right breast which she squeezes with her right hand.
