Description:
Altarpiece from the Hermitage of Our Lady of Hope at Albocacer painted by Taller de Pedro Nicolau in 1408-12. The centre has the Virgin enthroned with a Crucifixion scene above, and the lower half of the left hand side has Bernard kneeling at a desk with an open book, a crozier under his left arm and his hands clasped in prayer, looking up at the Vision of the tiny figures of Mary and Child in the sky surrounded by angels. Mary bares her breast in what is a Lactation picture. Bernard has 'tuft'.
