Description:
Triptych painted by Mariotto di Nardo, active from 1394, died 1424, a close follower of Jacopo di Cione. Centre has the Virgin and Child with six angels, the left wing St James and St John the Baptist, the right wing St Andrew and Bernard. Above, in the centre Christ blessing, on the sides the Annunciation and, below, two quatrefoils with Prophets. Bernard is in a white cowl and carries a crozier in his tight hand and a book in his left. He has a 'tuft'.
