Description:
A half-figure of Bernard, with hands clasped in prayer and a very elaborate crozier with carved figures in an architectural setting. He is depicted with a corpulent face with very distinctive features and it is almost certainly an abbot-portrait. The inscription 'Monstra te esse matrem' tells us that it was formerly part of a Lactation scene, perhaps one half of a diptych. Bernard has a 'tuft'.
