Description:
Triptych dated 1514/15 painted for a Carthusian monastery by the Master of the Holy Family. The central panel features St Barbara and St Dorothy with the Christ Child, the left panel St Bruno in the Carthusian habit with a kneeling male religious donor, and the right panel Bernard in the white Cistercian cowl with white tunic and black scapular showing underneath. He carries a crozier in his left hand and his right hand is placed over the head of a kneeling female religious donor.
