Description:
An Amplexus painting from a polyptych from Bartoszyce dated c 1510. Christ with arms detached from a T-Cross places his hands on the shoulders of a larger and youthful Bernard. The crucifix is placed on a tiled floor and surmounted by the inscription 'INRI'. A gatehouse is seen through a doorway on the left and a church through a window on the right. Bernard's crozier lies on the floor, and the arms of what was probably a Cistercian abbey, as it resembles that of Clairvaux, lies at the base of the Cross.
