Description:
The inner side of the wings painted by Joerg Breu in 1500 (visible when the wings are open) on the right, upper panel, depicts Bernard in a black cowl with a white tunic visible underneath, blessing the animals (horses, cows, sheep, goats, and pigs) by scattering salt. A tiny white dog jumps up at him. On the left a town with a Gothic church by the shore of a lake, on the right trees, and farm buildings with a plough in the farmyard (see also SC10, PA038-042, and PA044-5). There is no literary source to this image.
