Painting from Northwest Germany dated last third of the fifteenth century from the doors of a cupboard in the church of Sanga, Angermanland, Sweden. On the lef ta nimbed Bernard in a dark cowl with white tunic showing underneath and wearing a cap. He has an open book in his right hand and a crozier in his left. The other door has St Benedict in a black cowl and cap with a crozier in his right hand and a closed book in his left. The two are identified by the inscriptions: 'sanctus bernardus' and 'sanctus benedictus'.
