Description:
Bernard? Painter Carlo Crivelli was born c 1430 in Venice and died 1495. An abbot in a white cowl is shown carrying an open book in both hands from which he is reading, while supporting his crozier under his left arm. One of three panels, the others representing St Bonaventure and St Dominic. May be Bernard, but the gallery catalogue describes the figure as St Benedict which, being Italian, is equally possible. Bernard has 'tuft'.
