Description:
One of 42 miniatures in a Prayer Roll of Hours from Avignon dated c 1465, 9 1/2 metres long with text on five metres. A standing Bernard, nimbed and wearing what looks like a dalmatic over a white tunic, with his right hand pointing. He has a chain in his left hand at the end of which he has a devil. Several other smaller devils are in the background, and behind Bernard is a church. The text in red below refers to 'les sept vers saint bernard', followed by the Verses in Latin in black.
