Description:
The Breviary of the schismatic pope, Benedict XIII (Pedro de Luna) from Southeast France, perhaps Avignon, dated the first decades of the fifteenth century has, in the Proper of Saints, a small historiated initial P(erfice quaesumus...) - a prayer for the feast of St Bernard - with a half-figure of a nimbed Bernard with the hood of his white cowl over his head.
