Description:
Miniature in the lower margin of an Orationale in Latin - a book of directions and religious exercises for a num during Easter-tide with musical notes. Part of it are parchment, part paper, this on paper. The inscription on f 28v shows that it was written for the nuns of the Cistercian abbey of Medingen. Bernard in a white cowl stands on grass with three flowers rudely painted on each side. He has a red nimbus and carries a gold crozier in his right hand. The text on the scroll around him reads: 'Sunt vere festa pasci summe trinitatis sublissime' (Truly the feast of Easter is of the highest Trinity).
