Description:
From a Dante manuscript dated 1456 including Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso and with a commentary by Francesco da Buti. The figure of Dante kneels before that of a naked Bernard, only identifed by his halo, who points to the seated and nimbed figures of Mary and Christ in the sky surrounded by golden rays. On the right below is the kneeling figure of Beatrice dressed in green and wearing a laurel wreath. One of three miniatures featuring Bernard in this manuscript (see also MA386 & MA387).
