Description:
From a Dante manuscript dated 1456 including Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso and with a commentary by Francesco da Buti. A miniature illustrating Canto 32 has Dante standing behind a naked Bernard, identified only by his golden halo, who is pointing to the Virgin seated in the sky and flanked by the naked and nimbed figures of St Peter carrying a key and Moses with a long beard. One of three miniatures featuring Bernard in this manuscript (see also MA386 & MA388).
