Description:
A sixteenth-century Spanish manuscript with a full-page miniature of a nimbed Bernard in a white cowl sitting on a high-backed chair with a crozier in his right hand and a book in his left. The smaller figure of a woman donor kneeling at his feet is Queen Jeanne la Folle (1504-55) in whose Prayerbook - 'Devocionario de la reina Juana La Loca' - it is found . Bernard is identified by the inscription 'San Bernat'.
