Description:
One of two images of Bernard (see also MA348) in a Cistercian Breviary dated c 1410 which may have belonged to the Cistercian nuns at Sterkrede, Nijmegen. Within the blue initial E(go) on a gold ground are the busts of a number of nimbed saints, men above and women below the cross-bar. Among the men Bernard in a white cowl and Benedict in a black may be identified.
