Description:
A Breviary in Latin (Cistercian Use) from the Cistercian abbey of Chiaravalle near Milan dated 1481 has a tiny half-figure of Bernard within a gold initial A(d sancti) on a rosa ground and with Bernard against a blue ground with white stars. Bernard is nimbed, wears a grey cowl, has hands folded in prayer and has a gold crozier leaning against his right shoulder. A note refers to Bianca Visconti, wife of Francesco Sforza, who died in 1468.
