Description:
Within the initial V(obis fratres) - the opening of Sermon 1 On the Song of Songs - a half-figure of a bearded Bernard with the hood of his white cowl partially over his head is preaching to a group of five monks, one of them youthful-looking and one of the bearded, looking up at him attentively. He has his right hand raised with the index finger pointing in a teaching mode, and with his left hand he holds a red book with five studs.
