Description:
Half-figure of a bearded Bernard within the initial V(obis fratres), the beginning of Sermon 1 on the Song of Songs. He is wearing a chasuble decorated with four crosses on the orphreys, looking very much like a pallium. The initial is in red ink with clasps with nails, Bernard in brown ink against a red background with geometric decoration. Bernard's right hand is raised in blessing. The top of the initial with the top of Bernard's head is missing and his tonsure cannot be seen. He is bearded.
