| Bernard? The Bible of Monte Oliveto dated c 1320 has two kneeling figures of monks in white habits at the foot of the Genesis column depicting the seven days of Creation. The figure on the left without halo is thought to be the Blessed Bernard Tolomei, founder of the Order, and the nimbed figure on the right Bernard. For comparison, see MA050. |
