Description:
Italian Book of Hours in Latin dated 1500-05. The Virgin sits on the right, her blue cloak lying partly on a table on which the naked Child sits. Behind her is a rosa tapestry with gold decoration.The Virgin bares her right breast which she squeezes with her right hand. Bernard kneels behind a table, hands clasped and with his crozier leaning on his right shoulder. An open book is on the table. Through a window a mountainous landscape may be seen. The right border has foliate decoration on a gold ground. Next to the miniature is the prayer 'O Bone Jesu'.
