Description:
Latin Book of Hours (Use of Paris) of Louis of Anjou, Bastard of Maine (d 1489) with 15 Joys and 7 Requests in French. Probably made for his marriage 1464. Prayer to Bernard headed in blue 'De sant bernart' has a tiny miniature showing Bernard in a three-quarter length figure, nimbed, in a rosa dalmatic, and carrying a black book with gold edges in his left hand, against a blue background with a gold edge. Border on three sides with gold leaves and blue flowers.
