Description:
A small (18.5x13) Florentine manuscript of Sermons in Italian from the last quarter of the fifteenth century has a miniature with Bernard at the beginning of his 'Sermoni sopra il psalmo qui habitat' as indicated in red ink above the miniature. Bernard sits at a desk writing, with a pen in his right hand and a knife in his left, in a room with green walls and within a gold frame. The tiny figures of the Virgin and Child appearing in the sky can be seen out of a window with gold rays going in the direction of Bernard who looks up. A small brown horned devil lurks in the corner beside the desk. The left border is decorated with leaves and flowers. Bernard has a 'tuft'.
