Description:
Bernard? Initial 'C' cut out of mid-fifteenth-century Antiphonary from North Italy. A half-length bearded figure with the hood of a white cowl over the head and carrying book and crozier. As the rest of the folio is missing and as it comes from Italy the figure may as well be of St Benedict or another Benedictine saint as of Bernard.
