Description:
One of 83 miniatures in a Book of Hours (Use of Bourges) made in Paris in the late fiftenth-century has a picture of Bernard sitting on a stool at a desk in a study reading from a book (psalter) at the opening of the Seven Verses in Latin. There are two other books, both bound in blue, one lying on the desk and one on the floor propped up against the desk.
