Description:
Unfinished and rather crude miniature in an Italian (Florentine?) manuscript dated the second half of the fourteenth century of dante's Divine Comedy with a commentary by Jacopo della Lana illustrating Canto 33 of Paradiso. A nimbed and bearded Bernard kneels together with Dante and a group of seven other saints, all with hands clasped in prayer and looking up at God and the Virgin. One of four miniatures featuring Bernard. See also MA192-4.
