Description:
Unfinished and rather crude miniature in an Italian (Florentine?) manuscript dated second half of the fourteenth century of Dante's Divine Comedy with a commentary by Jacopo della Lana illustrating Canto 32 of Paradiso. A nimbed Bernard with long beard turns to Dante behind him pointing to Christ and Mary seated and surrounded by fourteen kneeling saints. One of four miniatures featuring Bernard.
