Description:
In a Book of Hours from c 1610 Bernard is depicted in a miniature below the heading in red 'de sancto Bernardo memoria' in a rocky landscape. He is wearing a white cowl, has a crozier in his left hand and with his right hand holds on a chain a black horned demon upon which he is standing. The three-quarter border consists of naturalistic flowers, a butterfly, and, at the bottom, a strange dog with a human face all on a gold ground.
