Description:
From a French Book of Hours from the second half of the fifteenth century, Use of Rome perhaps from the diocese of Tours, among the suffrages to the saints (ff 135v-144) a large miniature above four lines of text featuring, on the right, a bearded St James with the pilgrim's staff and hat and holding an open book held outwards towards Bernard on the left. Bernard is wearing a white tunic and black scapular and holds an open red book in both hands.
