Description:
From a Book of Hours (Use of Rome) with 12 exceptionally fine full-page miniatures and 24 smaller miniatures of the Saints, some of the larger ones by leading masters of the Bruges School, the 'Master of the Dresden Prayer Book' and the 'Master of the Prayer Book'. The half-figure of Bernard shows him reading from an open book held with both hands, his crozier leaning against his left shoulder against a background of a landscape with trees and birds in the sky. Bernard has a 'tuft'.
