One of two miniatures featuring Bernard in this mid-fourteenth century Italian manuscript, this one illustrating Canto 33. Below Dante kneels behind Bernard, whose right hand is holding Dante's hands while his left hand is pointing to a circle at the top containing the Virgin enthroned between three angels (see also MA79).
