Description:
One of two miniatures featuring Bernard in this mid-fourteenth century Italian manuscript, this one illustrating Canto 32 of Dante's Divine Comedy. Bernard's right hand is turned to Dante who stands behind him while his right hand points to a large divided circle at the top of which is a representation of the Annunciation and below three rows of saints, altogether sixteen (see also MA 80).
