Description:
One of five miniatures featuring Bernard in a manuscript from Emilia or Padua from the second quarter of the fourteeth century, of which this is one of two illustrating Canto 33 (the other is on f 184v). Half-figures of Dante and Bernard in the Empyrean pray to the Virgin between saints and Beatrice. At the top a bust of Christ within a circle appears between angels (See also MA072-5).
