Description:
In an Antiphonary from the Silesian abbey of Lubiaz (Leubus) dated 1280/90 Bernard is featured standing within the initial P(rima virtus viri sancti) from Vigils on the feast of Bernard (first Responsary of the first Nocturn). He has a crozier in his right hand and a scroll in his right hand which he shows to a smaller monk, one of his disciples. Elsewhere in the manuscript (on f 148v) St Benedict is featured in very much the same way, also accompanied by a disciple, within the initial F(uit).
