Description:
The second illustration in the Exemplum collection 'Ci nous dit' featuring two more scenes (for the first with the first two scenes, see MA42). The first shows Bernard preaching from a wooden platform. With the index finger of his right hand he admonishes his audience consisting of a mitred bishop and two monks behind. The picture on the right features the construction of Clairvaux. Bernard, accompanied by a monk, admires a workman dressing a square stone with a mallet. On the right part of the church is already built.
