Description:
In this manuscript in Netherlandish of Conrad of Eberbach's 'Exordium Magnum' from 1457 Bernard is depicted standing on grass before a kneeling nun in a white cowl and black veil whose scroll reads 'Pray for us blessed father Bernard'. The nun's habit and references to 'our father Bernard' suggests that the manuscript was copied for Cistercian nuns, but it is known to have belonged to Augustinian canonesses.
