Description:
The opening folio of the Property Register of Tennenbach from 1341-7. The upper initial O (Dee paratum sit opus) contains an unusual representation of the Trinity, the large dove of the Holy Spirit enveloping within its wings the figures of the Father and the Son and with two beaks, each pointing to the two figures on either side and with only one central eye. Below are the kneeling figures of two nimbed abbots, one in black and one in grey, representing Benedict and Bernard. The lower initial S(cripturus igitur possessiones) - not seen here but shown in the other illustrations listed - has the kneeling abbot, Johannes Zenlin, and three figures representing the cellarer, Johannes Meiger, seated at a desk facing a lay brother and a peasant with a stick.
