1505/32. Here Bernard is celebrated as the great writer and teacher. He stands between two trees writing. Facing him are a group including Moses with the tablets, King David with his harp, Charlemagne, Peter, Paul, and John, and others. Behind him one of his monks carries his crozier. Bernard's scroll reads: 'Quam dilexi legem tuam, Domine, tota die meditatio est' (How I love your law, O Lord, the whole day it is my meditation - Ps 118:97). On another scroll it says: 'Beati qui scrutantur testimonia eius' (Blessed are those who keep his testimonies - Ps 118:2).
