Description:
c 1525. Bernard is shown preaching his third sermon on the feast of St Peter and St Paul . The power of his message is expressed by his seat floating above the floor, held up by two small angels dressed in red and blue respectively. The lower part of their garments protrude in front of the abbot's chair and trail along the floor which is covered in typically Cistercian patterned tiles.
