Description:
c 1525. Following a healing Bernard settles a dispute between Bishop Stephen and Duke Mathias of Lorraine in Metz in 1153. Bernard is seen, accompanied by a monk carrying his crozier, between the adversaries on an island. In the background on the other side of the river a cavalry and pikemen are massed ready for battle.
